Dionna L. Hayden

Life with twins and a high energy little boy can be quite the adventure. So much so, The Cookie-Flower Rock Kids creator, Dionna L. Hayden, decided to write and illustrate about it based on the lives of her very own children!

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dionna's artistic ability and love for children's books were developed at a very young age. By 6 years old, she openly expressed her desire to become an illustrator. From her youth into adulthood, she concentrated her studies in the fine and graphic arts. Some of her artistic abilities include, realism, still life, abstract, illustration and photography. For about 20 years, Dionna has been a graphic artist/designer and currently owns and operates Pink Elephant Graphic Design, and publishing imprint Lucky Boots.

In addition to living her dreams professionally, Dionna thoroughly enjoys being mom of now teenagers Ky, Devin, and Kristian; and partner to college sweetheart Kyle. Dionna believes positive changes in the world begins with strong families. As a supporter of building healthy communities, she has actively participated and volunteered in outreach programs, including youth mentorship, since being a youth. After becoming a parent, she realized the urgency of parents properly equipping their children very early with the needed insight to live and lead productive lives. Her hope through The Cookie-Flower Rock Kids series is to bring an element of color and fun to the life learning experience for children while bringing families closer together.
